Renewed Again

Yeah I agree! This site is fantastic & I cant wait to pay the membership fee. I havent yet, only because I unexpectedly had a change of jobs & income recently & I need to take care of other expenses.

Education, Inspiration, conversation.... all those things alone are worth so much to an Artist's creativity.

I still get a kick out of the fact that I get to hang out with some of the world's greatest Artists .

Tony, its well worth .08 cents a day. I've sold some and getting lots of visitors around the world to my site. Just never know when we'll get the next check coming. Its well worth it!

I just upgraded after a 3mnth trial with the free account. I think the help, advice and lively chat offered in the forums is worth the $30 alone.

I just made one small sale today that paid for my next year and about a third of the year after that.

No sales except by me.. Wont cry if none. Enjoy everybodys work. Enjoy the discussions. Only 12$ plus shipping or so for a 10 x 12 art print compared to 19$ bowt the same atta shop without all the comraderie, advice, your own website, blog, groups, ..

It's well worth it for me. There is some fabulous art here and lively discussion, so it's entertainment. I also get to catalog my work and since I don't want to house my paintings, this is a great way to keep track of what I've done. Thank you FAA!

I agree, the exposure alone is well worth the amount.

I donīt think that I will renew it. Exposure? Bots only. Well, forum ïs good here, but one doesnīt need premium to participate in it.

Um, there's a math problem in this thread. The cost is 8 cents a day, or $0.08, but not .08 cents which is $0.0008 or eight 100ths of a cent. If that were the case it would only cost 29.2 cents for the whole year!

Martin I would agree there are many other sites where my exposure if my higher and better, some of these are free. One site I uploaded to the image was purchased within 10 minutes. Never happen here. However 30 bucks is nothing you can't get anything to last a year for 30 bucks.

As far as the forum goes I find it policed too much and if they don't like the discussion they just close it. True art and artists would be allowed full freedom of expression on here as long as they are civil to each other. A little less police action and the forum would have more posters I feel.

I was seriously considering not renewing this year. I've been here since 2010 without a single sale and got to thinking that even though it's only $30, why am I just throwing money away? Also, my Smugmug site consistently out performs FAA for me without having to play all the FAA games in order to help get my search rankings to go up.

That all changed with 3 recent sales that not only paid for FAA for another year, but also earned me enough to pay for my SM site for another year and put some cash in my pocket.

So I guess the FAA community is stuck with me for at least another year. ;-)

I renewed in June, I think. Payed from FAA. ;-)

Best $30 I ever spent.

I've got to think that if I can sell from time to time, you folks who haven't sold in years should be able to as well. Jeff Simon, your work is really good!

Jeff : I admire your patience. After nearly a year with only few card sales (not even 30 bucks). I dont thing, there is any chance for my work to by sold. I canīt make images good enough and what buyers want to be sold here.

It was a no brainer for me. I uploaded 25 and made my first 3 POD sales ever in the first 2 weeks. I easily make my dues with the frame comminssions alone. I am on other sites but have never sold a thing.

Jeff congrats on your long overdue sales. Barry, glad you are going to hang around a bit longer. Maybe one day they will offer 3-D printing here.

A lot can be said for at least presenting a positive attitude. I don't think it does any good for you to be on a public site saying " I canīt make images good enough and what buyers want to be sold here." For one, I don't think it's true at all. Two, if you say that then why should a buyer pay for your work to begin with? I suspect the pestimitic attitude plays out in other places besides this forum. A seller should put their best foot forward and you're not doing that at all.

Martin... tough it out.. I personally think your digital work is superb! If I do happen to get a few sales and have some spare cash floating around, your's will be one of the first pieces I purchase!!!!...I promise :-)

edit: I'm currently saving up to buy an original from Mario Carta..but you're next on the list :o)

I absolutely agree! I have made one sale in 3+ years. But the fact that I can direct people to a professional-looking gallery of my all my work (not just 25 images) and be part of the community here is the reason I stay premium. And IF, by some chance, someone DOES want to purchase from me, I literally have to do NOTHING to fulfill that order.

Jeff, you shouldn't have any problems selling here. Your work is good. And Valerie show me how I can get my gallery going here.
