The realism work displayed here is truly beautiful.
When I was younger, I worked at being a hyper realistic artist. I only did it because that was the type of art that my parents thought was true artistic talent. As I got older I began to find my own artistic style and it was not to do hyper realism. For me, hyper realism was all about being perfect and making no mistakes without using a grid. My dad would pick out every imperfection and focus on that instead of what I did correctly. I'm not angry about it. It taught me a great deal. Now, I find joy in making art with its imperfections. I get excited about the "happy accidents". It's been a long road to loosen up my style to a more impressionistic look. I still enjoy looking at hyper realism works. Sometimes, I do realism pieces, but will probably never do a hyper realism piece because I find beauty is also in the imperfections.
