Need Help Identifying A Type Of Boat

This unusual brown boat, which looks to me to be vintage and perhaps from the far east, was spotted in the marina in Sausalito, California. Can anyone identify it? Thanks!

I'm on the phone just now, but the vessels name appears to be on the stern, have you looked that up?

It's a Chinese junk. It might even be this one.

Here's more info. You have to register to see all the photos. But it is a 1959 Chinese junk or Hong Kong Junk. It a type of sailboat.

These are fascinating vessels.

As a sailor I have always want to sail on one. Not yet had the opportunity. :-(

Walter, I did a search several months ago on Chinese junks and turned up boats similar to what you show here. Frankly I didn't see enough similarity, and that's what threw me off.

The one in Sausalito was for sale. Don't know if it still is. Why don't you look into that. Last I saw, it had been reduced from $60K to $40K. I really don't see how you can pass that up! With the $20K you save, you'll have the junk half paid for, bringing the total to about $20K. You could cover that by charging for rides. ;-) I'd go, though it would cost me airfare to SF.
