Suggestion To Faa - Sell Multiple Piece Artworks.

I would like to know what other artists think about being able to upload and sell multiple piece artworks, for example a triptych. Of course as it is we can upload each section of the artwork separately and try to sell that way, but it make's a lot more sense to sell the pieces together and to show the customer what all the pieces look like before they purchase. I make this recommendation because I have been selling customized triptych versions of my artwork to customers that request it quite successfully. They like the modern look and shipping is always cheaper when you stack the canvases together. I believe this will increase sales and justify the expense of adding this feature into the website.

YES! I have a few panoramas that would make great triptychs or diptychs. If you also offer frames that are single frames with divided mats for triptychs or diptychs, that would be awesome, too.

John good idea for the single frame option.

Agreed!

I've seen this request here before. So far, no joy.

it's not a problem if you are selling original paintings...I put them up as a triptych and only sell them that way....but once framing and prints are involved......hmmm......

Jaison, I created a separate folder just for triptychs and such, then had to create full spread files for customer to purchase as a single print as well as individual files so the customer can order them separately. It can get a bit tricky sometimes.
Had one lady who seen the full spread and assumed that each panel was printed separately. Good thing she contacted me first before ordering, because to have them printed as separate panels and shipped through FAA, it would have cost her $500 in just shipping. I ended up custom printing it locally for her. 3 panels 24”x72”.

Hi Peter. I agree, for a customer to purchase the pieces separately is it just not a simple process. Plus there is room for error and the shipping charges are too great. The prints should be stacked into one box reducing the shipping costs. That's why we end up doing a custom order for the customer.

Any other artists feel that this is a good idea? Please comment and let FAA know. Thanks!

Yes I do! I have several painted triptychs that I want to sell, but don't want to have white (or any color) borders on it to sell as one single print (would not look right on metal or acrylic prints) but also don't want to post them individually, because I feel people won't know to look at all three, and cannot visualize them together. Not having this option is a big fail on FAA's part... I highly request the option and feel it would boost sales for artists and FAA alike!!

It is harder to sell them as a singles for a set as it is now. but I have seen them

on the sold page. Not sure if the seller sent a client her or they found them in a

gallery that way. Who knows if we ever get that. Not sure what sort of coding is

involved... but for the time being add to each piece's description box the matching

pieces names. I have been thinking about making a separate gallery for each set.

Might make way more galleries than I want but as a trial I may give that a go for now.

Thanks for commenting guys and keeping this discussion rolling. I would think FAA would take notice if they see the potential for greater sales here. Triptych prints are an effective way for me to produce and sell really large pieces of art. I mean really large. Plus they have a modern look and feel that a lot of people like.
