Outside Promotion

As we all know, promo inside POD sites does not work to well.
That's why we created QTalk

http://qthecollection.com/qtalk/index.php

We tweet, comment and promote your work and will soon advertise to buyers.
Qtalk is not designed as a competition to FAA but rather an extension to drive traffic here and your work and eventually boost sales.
Qtalk also maintains 3 facebook groups and a twitter account with 100's of members, which is utilized for advertising.
Website: http://www.qthecollection.com/
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/423104211112827
https://www.facebook.com/groups/358025760893320/
https://www.facebook.com/QTheCollection
Twitter: https://twitter.com/
FAA Group: http://fineartamerica.com/groups/q-collection.html
Registration and everything else is free
A priceless opportunity for promotion

Hope to see you there and hope you enjoy it

Thanks Gunter! I think some of us could use a break and/or change of pace from this forum while still aiming for the same goal and promote FAA.

Thanks Craig,

It is a social network for artists and collectors and I do believe, although hard to track, people who participate, see already benefits and we receive awesome feedback from members.
Of course we are still at the beginning and small but growing by the day. It will be great ..............

Yes a good question from Mary Ellen. Is QTalk exclusive for photograhers only Gunter? Since I tried joining last week but I find it hard to register on the site. Could you please help, and clarify. Thanks Gunter.

Hi,

Thank you so much for your interest ...... awesome
No - this is for all artists even other than visual. No matter if you are member at Q the collection or not

Anybody can register and participate.

Registration should be easy, but sometimes the verification email ends up in your spam folder.
Drop me a message if you have problems with the captcha or anything else. I monitor the board and if I see a name I recognize I will activate for you.

If it still does not work (no known problems), drop me a message with the user name and the email you want to use, and I will register you and email you a temporary password.

Thanks again

I've assumed for some time Gunter that this was just for photography. The slogan says photography. Is the FAA group just photography and only the one FB group?

I think this is great, Gunter. But don't want to step out-of-bounds.

@Barbara, Awesome

@Mary, I activated your account and what Matthias said, only the group here on FAA is limited to photography, everything else, although it is the main thing at the moment and included in the logo, it is open to all artists. Thanks for joining and hope it is useful to you.

Those are wonderfully comprehensive Features,Gunter.....Does Q (you) do that? And where are they posted for the Artist. That is amazing promotion.

I can't imagine you doing that for 'everybody' /membership will grow too big,
But
Each us us could do our collage, if you would promote it?? If you asked particular artists to do the collage?

We will do it for everybody who is registered on Qtalk and has a gallery, or who is member in Q the collection and has images accepted.
You need to have the right, material and we will pick it up. That's one of the main ideas for the Q project.
We never ask to promote us or comment on others (We don't believe artists are in the business to promote web sites or other artists, we believe your talent was given to you to create), there is never need for a return, although the tools are provided, if one chooses to do so.
If we spot something in your port like a series of birds or a country region as shown in the examples, we will put a set together and feature it.
If you don't do photographs, you can open a gallery with other visual art as well here:

http://qthecollection.com/qtalk/index.php?action=gallery;su=user;sa=userlist

As of now buyers have a hard time to find good material in search engines in the main stream price range.
Our approach is to make it very easy for clients and save them time. We try to take the "Randomness" out of this business.
We try to shift the client from "Oh this one is not to bad" to "That's the one" with as little keystrokes as possible.

We believe relevance in search is the top seller, if you are looking for big numbers.
There is amazing work out there that does not turn up in search engines, not even in Google, we will take care of that for you.

No successful artists promote themselves. They all have a marketing team. All we want you to do is to create outstanding work, we do the rest, no fees, no commissions, not to the artist, not to the client.

There are many concepts in the making that will attract buyers to come to Qtalk, especially interior designers.
We will start targeted advertising soon.
The earlier you are with us, the better your chance to get established, as it is on any website. People who are member longest always sell most, in most cases.

Membership cannot be to big, we want everybody who has good work and is positive, passionate and motivated.
We do allow any POD site, you can list your work from Red Bubble and others, but we like FAA best and support this site.

It is some work but we are convinced it will pay off, and we already have great numbers and great feedback for being just a couple of month on the market.
It is free and will stay free for artists.

Thanks to the many who support us already.
Who's next?

Q the collection is just a group on FAA that supports Qtalk, in order to enjoy all the benefits you have to register here: http://qthecollection.com/qtalk/index.php

Thanks for this opportunity Gunter. I just signed up for this. Your message says to upload images to the gallery for Mothers Day promotion, but I do not see any options for uploading to the gallery, or any option for posting in the discussion. Plus it keep logging me out.

Greg Norrell

Ann - when you log in, there's an option for how long to remain logged in. After you are logged in, look for the Gallery button on the menu. From there, you can set up your own gallery (or galleries) and upload images. In the description section when you upload images, you can place your FAA link so that people will know where to go to purchase.

Tomi Palonen

Hi

I skimmed the forum, read faq and other tutorials, but I'm still not sure how this works.
So I have a FAA acount/site. I registered to Qtalk. What now? Do I post some bulk of images somewhere with the FAA img coding or do I just add one image per day in this thread: http://qthecollection.com/qtalk/index.php?board=16.0 or in some other image talk sub forum?

Also how does this promote my photos more other than being in on another site? How does it work?

Ann Powell

Tomi, I am glad someone else is confused besides just me. I read the help instructions for posting to a topic in the forum but I can not find a reply option as described. Also, for the gallery part, if I want to just put links to my FAA site like I do when I post on FB and google+ will that work? Or do I have to upload a separate image? I

Greg Norrell

Tomi and Ann - There are two ways you may share images on QTalk. First, you can use the links from your FAA site much like you would on a blog, here, or personal website. You simply use the big red "Convert FAA Image Link" to convert the HTML code from here to BBC code for posting in a BBC discussion forum. The second way is by uploading a separate version of your image(s) to the QTalk gallery, just like you would at other photography discussion forums. If you use the second option (uploading to a personal gallery), you still may embed the FAA link in the image description so that potential buyers can be directed to your sales page.

Having links to your images from other websites (such as QTalk) provides additional exposure for images, but it also helps provide exposure for search engines. If you have an image here that gets some marginal exposure in search engines for a particular keyword(s), then boosting the exposure on QTalk (as with blogs, and other sites) can help enhance that positioning in search engine rankings.

Finally, QTalk is meant to provide enjoyable, positive interaction among artists and collectors (much like this wonderful discussion forum). Since it has specific boards, those boards can be more focused (e.g., Macro and Still Life). I hope that helps.

- Greg

Thanks for clarification, but I'm still not sure where to post my photos? So for me is those Image Talk sub forums (1 photo per day) only place for me to post photos?

Gunter Nezhoda

@Tomi

You can post anywhere you like and it's not just 1 image.
In the Gallery you can upload up to 100 a day
http://www.qthecollection.com/qtalk/index.php?action=gallery

In the threads sometimes people specify just one, other than that it's up to you. Most people stick with 3 in a post.

Here's how I do my gallery
http://qthecollection.com/qtalk/index.php?action=gallery;sa=view;id=15

I understand it is a little confusing at first but will make sense, once you did it a couple of times.

Gunter, works like a charm! I used most of my keywords that I'd used in my images and they pulled up every time...right on target!

I do like that folks will be able to search using the Exif info. However, how can we make that available? I am not sure if the images that I've uploaded in my gallery have the Exif info in them. When I did a search using the Exif info none of my images came up. Thoughts?

Cheers!

You gallery looks awesome Sai.
In the search you can choose with checkboxes where you would like to search
http://qthecollection.com/qtalk/index.php?action=gallery;sa=search

You need to check description, then it will work. We read all IPTC data, even GPS.
If you have GPS on your camera we will show the coordinates where the photo was taken, which is awesome for travel images.

Greg Norrell

Looks like your images don't have EXIF data attached Sai. You can turn on or off in LR whether to leave that data or strip it out.

Just looked at your descriptions and they are great. You can put the copyright line in the IPTC and it will read it too, you only have to do it once.
