No - this is for all artists even other than visual. No matter if you are member at Q the collection or not

Anybody can register and participate.

Registration should be easy, but sometimes the verification email ends up in your spam folder.
Drop me a message if you have problems with the captcha or anything else. I monitor the board and if I see a name I recognize I will activate for you.

If it still does not work (no known problems), drop me a message with the user name and the email you want to use, and I will register you and email you a temporary password.

We will do it for everybody who is registered on Qtalk and has a gallery, or who is member in Q the collection and has images accepted.
You need to have the right, material and we will pick it up. That's one of the main ideas for the Q project.
We never ask to promote us or comment on others (We don't believe artists are in the business to promote web sites or other artists, we believe your talent was given to you to create), there is never need for a return, although the tools are provided, if one chooses to do so.
If we spot something in your port like a series of birds or a country region as shown in the examples, we will put a set together and feature it.

As of now buyers have a hard time to find good material in search engines in the main stream price range.
Our approach is to make it very easy for clients and save them time. We try to take the "Randomness" out of this business.
We try to shift the client from "Oh this one is not to bad" to "That's the one" with as little keystrokes as possible.

We believe relevance in search is the top seller, if you are looking for big numbers.
There is amazing work out there that does not turn up in search engines, not even in Google, we will take care of that for you.

No successful artists promote themselves. They all have a marketing team. All we want you to do is to create outstanding work, we do the rest, no fees, no commissions, not to the artist, not to the client.

There are many concepts in the making that will attract buyers to come to Qtalk, especially interior designers.
We will start targeted advertising soon.
The earlier you are with us, the better your chance to get established, as it is on any website. People who are member longest always sell most, in most cases.

Membership cannot be to big, we want everybody who has good work and is positive, passionate and motivated.
We do allow any POD site, you can list your work from Red Bubble and others, but we like FAA best and support this site.

It is some work but we are convinced it will pay off, and we already have great numbers and great feedback for being just a couple of month on the market.
It is free and will stay free for artists.

You can upload and post any image you like.
Yes, check out tutorials in FAQ how to post your image with link.

Go to the gallery, and see how I setup up mine with links to FAA and a buy it now button. I even have a licensing button in my description.
It takes a little to set it all up, but I promise it will be worth it.

Thanks for this opportunity Gunter. I just signed up for this. Your message says to upload images to the gallery for Mothers Day promotion, but I do not see any options for uploading to the gallery, or any option for posting in the discussion. Plus it keep logging me out.

Ann - when you log in, there's an option for how long to remain logged in. After you are logged in, look for the Gallery button on the menu. From there, you can set up your own gallery (or galleries) and upload images. In the description section when you upload images, you can place your FAA link so that people will know where to go to purchase.

I skimmed the forum, read faq and other tutorials, but I'm still not sure how this works.
So I have a FAA acount/site. I registered to Qtalk. What now? Do I post some bulk of images somewhere with the FAA img coding or do I just add one image per day in this thread: http://qthecollection.com/qtalk/index.php?board=16.0 or in some other image talk sub forum?

Also how does this promote my photos more other than being in on another site? How does it work?

Tomi and Ann - There are two ways you may share images on QTalk. First, you can use the links from your FAA site much like you would on a blog, here, or personal website. You simply use the big red "Convert FAA Image Link" to convert the HTML code from here to BBC code for posting in a BBC discussion forum. The second way is by uploading a separate version of your image(s) to the QTalk gallery, just like you would at other photography discussion forums. If you use the second option (uploading to a personal gallery), you still may embed the FAA link in the image description so that potential buyers can be directed to your sales page.

Having links to your images from other websites (such as QTalk) provides additional exposure for images, but it also helps provide exposure for search engines. If you have an image here that gets some marginal exposure in search engines for a particular keyword(s), then boosting the exposure on QTalk (as with blogs, and other sites) can help enhance that positioning in search engine rankings.

Finally, QTalk is meant to provide enjoyable, positive interaction among artists and collectors (much like this wonderful discussion forum). Since it has specific boards, those boards can be more focused (e.g., Macro and Still Life). I hope that helps.

Gunter, works like a charm! I used most of my keywords that I'd used in my images and they pulled up every time...right on target!

I do like that folks will be able to search using the Exif info. However, how can we make that available? I am not sure if the images that I've uploaded in my gallery have the Exif info in them. When I did a search using the Exif info none of my images came up. Thoughts?

You need to check description, then it will work. We read all IPTC data, even GPS.
If you have GPS on your camera we will show the coordinates where the photo was taken, which is awesome for travel images.

Looks like your images don't have EXIF data attached Sai. You can turn on or off in LR whether to leave that data or strip it out.

Just looked at your descriptions and they are great. You can put the copyright line in the IPTC and it will read it too, you only have to do it once.

Thanks for the info Greg & Gunter! I never realized that the EXIF info was turned off till now!! Good to know about putting the copyright in the IPTC as well. I'll upload a few more pictures over the weekend with the EXIF turned on and see what happens. You guys are devoted to what you do and I love that! Thanks again for your prompt response!
