R.G. Endres Gallery May Art Show May 8th

In May, I will be releasing an entire new collection of figure work. I have created figures of all shapes, styles, and eras and will be unveiling them during the month of May at the R. G. Endres Gallery - located at the Municipal offices of Prairie Village. It took me two years to earn a spot at this location and I finally accomplished it!
I have always wanted to move more in the direction of figure work. I call the series, reneinment dehors (french for breaking out). This is a series about simplicity and balance. These elusive, abstract, images portray shape and form in a simple, vibrant way. The simplicity of each figure is key to the work. I strive for simplicity and balance in my own life personally and I tried to incorporate that into this series. I enjoy allowing people to insert themselves into each piece, taking themselves on as the figure in their own personal way. I have created most of this work with only a palette knife because it allows me to define the figure, while working in a very fluid, fun way. The work is done in acrylic on canvas or birch panels.
