Red Bank Salon Teams Up with Local Artist for an Evening of Art, Hair Inspiration, Charity & Cuisine

Salon Concrete guests as well as family, friends and the Monmouth community will kick off the fall season on Saturday, September 6th, 6:00pm – 9:00pm at Salon Concrete in Red Bank to celebrate the new Concrete Galleries art installment, “Beauty & Icons.”

The “Beauty & Icons” art collection, created by local Monmouth County resident and Salon Concrete client, Michelle Weadock, is inspired by her love for the simple beauty of women from the 1950’s and 1960’s, and her admiration of the natural beauty of butterflies. Her charcoal drawings of iconic women take on a slightly dark twist since some of the subjects appear in classic horror films. Along with the portraits, Weadock’s collection of butterfly drawings with colored pencil will be on display.

“I selected Michelle as our signature artist for the fall season. She has incredible talent and I want to give the wall space to student artists like her, who have never shown before. Our Salon Concrete guests will have an opportunity to view new and captivating artwork from an emerging artist,” said Christine Zilinski, owner Salon Concrete.javascript:%20validateform();

At the event, the Salon Concrete team, including senior stylist, Mallory will showcase an art inspired hair collection with live models, complementing the works of Weadock using striking charcoal hair color tones, among the most sought-after color techniques of the season.

The gallery opening will also feature inspirational art with music, dancing, appetizers from Palms Plaza Catering of Matawan, cheese from the Cheese Cave and chocolates from Badazzle my Bonbons of Zephyrhills Florida. The “Beauty & Icons” event will help raise funds and awareness for the Dennis W Zilinski II memorial foundation, an organization that supports programs to assist wounded soldiers and their families as well as provides educational scholarships. Guests will be able to make a suggested donation at the door on the night of the event.

About The Artist

Michelle Weadock is a completely self- taught artist, with her motivation and passion for art as her driving force. Two years ago she started working at a local haunted attraction doing make up and the application of prosthetics on the actors. This artistic endeavor prompted her to pursue her artistry more seriously. Her medium of choice is influx. Sometimes it's colored pencil and charcoal, other times its face and body paint, and occasionally photography. At a young age Weadock loved to draw and used her parent’s house as her canvas, creating works of art in her brother’s closet and on the walls. Now she is thrilled to have her works decorating the walls of Salon Concrete instead. www.facebook.com/michelleweadockart
