Artist Bob Williams Displayes Brazilian Agate Artwork At FAA

September 15th, 2014 - Havre, MT

Sept. 15th 2014

Havre, Montana

Montana Artist Bob Williams has put a few of his Brazilian Agates on display at his website with Fine Art of America.

If you are unsure about Brazilian Agate Art and what it is or looks like , I think you'll be in for a treat. It is very unique and very pretty , We 'll go through the process in steps below.

The 1st step is to find what you would like to paint on an agate. The agates he uses are between 4x6 to 8x12 in size so don't plan a large landscape'

He like to paint mostly animals and mostly head shots, but you could do the complete animal and some habitat.

The 2nd is to pick the agate, most people would think this would be the first step and it can be sometimes. Now we match the agate with our painting plans , for example maybe a deep blue agate for a killer whale piece , a green agate for a jungle scenery for a Macaw. Will the agate be to small or to big for the image and the shape of the agate, will it work with the total composition.

The 3rd is to prepare the agate, it is already cut and polished but that was for looks , we need to get it ready for our artwork. It will need to be cleaned, holes filled if any, sanded.

The 4th is to start oil painting or acrylic painting on the agate , these are the only two mediums that he uses.

The 5th stage is to clear coat the agate once it has dried for a few weeks. Then it is taken down to the frame shop to have it mounted into a shadow box type set up .

Hope this information has been helpful. To see the Brazilin Agates and to receive prints in many sizes , you can click on www.bobsartforyou.com or log on to FAA's website. There are also videos on you tube that can be found under Bob Williams Artist or Brazilian Agate Art
