2015 City Of Glendale Art Show Glendale Star Newpaper

June 14th, 2015 - Peoria, Ar

It has often been said that Glendale’s Got Game, but did you know that Glendale’s Got Art? Through the month of May, artwork produced by city employees will be featured at Gallery Glendale.

Artists from the police department, building safety, airport and other departments will showcase approximately 75 pieces of work. The art will include drawing, painting, mixed media, sculptures and photography.

Among the featured artists this month is Andy Schaudt with Glendale’s Community Services Department. His artwork has been exhibited across the nation, including in New York City.

“My life has always been about creating art; from an early age, I knew I was an artist,” Schaudt said. “After much reflection, I have come to realize that we all touch each other in some way, every interaction, whether it be with strangers, or the people you love. Every soul we encounter though life’s journey contributes to make us who we are and what we become. My drawings and paintings express my human experience.”

An opening celebration was held May 1.
