Description

Storm chasing in the vicinity of Tucson, Arizona, and particularly lightning photography can be a very challenging passion. It can also be a rather risky endeavor. Where will the storm go? What do I want for foreground? How much rain will come down, and where? Will there be lightning? And where will the lightning be?

All of these questions, and more, have to be answered correctly if one is to get to the desired location, then point the lens in the proper direction and have the shutter open at the decisive moment. All the while trying to be reasonably safe, dry, and most important, return home unscathed to share the images.

In this case I felt like I had made all the correct decisions as the summer monsoon season brought record rains and some photogenic thunderstorms to Tucson in July, 2021. With three simultaneous bolts recorded in one five-second exposure I felt like I had just won the Trifecta,

"Trifecta Vista" is formatted in the 1:2 ratio vista size for where strikingly beautiful, bold and colorful landscape art is desired to satisfy a demanding interior design requirement. It can be obtained in lengths up to 8 feet wide for dramatic presentation on large walls, corridors, meeting rooms and open interior spaces.
