Description
Original pen and ink drawing of a Bengal Tiger looking to the viewers left. I've tried to show their strength and intensity in this portrait of the tiger. I thought that I could really make it more intense by making it a black and white portrait, and ink really gives you a much deeper black (than pencil). Its as if the tiger is emerging out of the paper.

The Bengal tiger is a population of the Panthera tigris tigris subspecies and the nominate tiger subspecies. It ranks among the biggest wild cats alive today. It is considered to belong to the world's charismatic megafauna. The tiger is estimated to have been present in the Indian subcontinent since the Late Pleistocene, for about 12,000 to 16,500 years.
