Description

The fishing pier in Venice, Florida is a great place to watch the sunset at the end of the day. The pier extends 700 feet out into the blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico, and is very tall. It is located in Brohard Park at the southern end of the island of Venice. There is a restaurant called Sharky's on the end of the pier. Caspersen Beach is just down the road where fossilized sharks teeth can be found. This is one of the most popular landmarks in Venice. On this night the clouds hung low enough to the horizon that when the sun came down below them the color burst into very bright colors. This photo is cropped to fit a standard size frame. I also have this image available cropped 16 x 9. The larger image won a billboard contest in 2021 on Fine Art America, placing in the top 20 photos of 24,341 images and 9226 artists worldwide. The photo hung on a billboard on I-4 near Orlando in November 2021.
