THE COLORS OF FALL by Lynn Bauer was taken at Sherando Lake in Virginia. This area of the forest located on the path that circles lake was at peak color, and yet there were still trees with green leaves. The variety of color was amazing! Sherando Lake is a well known vacation destination within the George Washington National Forest and is found within Virginia's Shenandoah Valley.
If you take a close look at this image, you can almost hear the rustle of the trees in the soft breeze, and watch an occasional leaf begin to gently drop to the earth below.
