Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….
This painting called The Birdbath was featured in the 2013 Minnesota State Fair. It is about the end of summer and remembering summers of the past. There is a bit of melancholy as the woman looks at the birdbath and the yard that used to be covered with flowers. This was done in oil from life. The cottage is the summer haven for relaxation and fun.
William Bukowski is a Midwest painter, born in Wisconsin and living in Minnesota. He is a longtime art professor at Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato. Bukowski paints from everyday experiences and tries to convey the universal joy in relaxation, family time and quiet reflection in the landscape. He has artwork in many private and public collections including: the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art, the Minneapolis Children's Hospital, the St. Paul Children's Hospital, Bethany Lutheran College, Worthington Art Center, Waseca Art Center, and Pathstone Living facility.
