This is one of the many varieties of Sunflowers from our garden. I put it in a square vase(or drink glass) and painted it. Some of you might prefer Peonies, Tiger Lilies, Irises or Tulips. Are you ready..."A rose by any other name would smell as sweet". I've wanted to quote Shakespeare(from Romeo and Juliet for our neophyte friends) with one of my paintings for quite some time...Ahhhhhh!

Dan Nadeau is a 60 year old artist that began painting 11 years ago.Dan paints in an impressionistic style and incorporates some abstract imagery in his paintings. His medium is acrylic on canvas and wood and an occasional oil painting. Landscapes and seascapes are the typical works Dan paints. Primary influences in his artwork came from his mother Estelle a great artist in her own right in the 1960's whose life was cut short by Breast and Lung cancer at the age of 56. Other influences include his maternal grandfather that worked sculpting wrought iron and brass into statues, candelabras, church crosses, gates and terrazzo designed floors featuring church window impressions.
