Description
Sunrise in the Doll House, in the Maze district of Canyonlands National Park in Utah. Standing Rocks break up the sunrise just south of the Manti la Sal Mountains. Not seen in this photo is a small granary underneath the dome shaped rock behind which the sun is rising. The road is active close in, however the road farthest away has been closed for decades and leads to an old, closed camping site located above the Colorado River and Spanish Bottom.
This is an HDRimage - extremely minor artifacts are present.
Canyonlands invites you to explore a wilderness of countless canyons and fantastically formed buttes carved by the Colorado River and its tributaries. The Green and Colorado rivers separate Canyonlands into four districts: the Island in the Sky, the Needles, the Maze, and the rivers themselves, in addition to the Horseshoe Canyon detached unit. Each destination within Canyonlands offers different opportunities for sightseeing and exploration. These areas share a primitive desert atmosphere, but each offers different opportunities for sightseeing and adventure. There are no roads that directly link the districts. Although they may appear close on a map, travelling between them requires two to six hours by car. There is no other place on the planet quite like Canyonlands National Park!
