Description
This is a study of water effects in acrylic to achieve in motion action. When startled or frightened, a swimming beaver will rapidly dive while forcefully slapping the water with its broad tail. This creates a loud 'slap', audible over large distances above and below water. This noise serves as a warning to other beavers in the area. Once a beaver has made this danger signal, all nearby beavers will dive and may not reemerge for some time.
Comunication with their families about predators or to scare the predators away. They also use their tails to push mud down when buliding their homes.
My holler in Kentucky is full of Beavers and other wildlife, enjoying the knowledge of why they do what they do. Love the fur wet or dry it's always slick and soft to view.
