Description
A photograph I took in July 2014 whilst helping to plant poppies at the Tower of London. This installation is called Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red, marking the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War. Created by ceramic artist Paul Cummins, with setting by stage designer Tom Piper. 888,246 ceramic poppies will be planted, each poppy represents a British soldier who fell in WW1.
These actual ceramic poppies can be bought by going onto the Tower of London website
