Realizing what we are selling is going to a buyer, who cares as much about quality, as the person who purchases the "Original Paintings." Bob Photographs them with a Nikon
D300, processing the copy of a painting in Adobe Lightroom, a digital Darkroom. He makes them look their very best, or as close to the Original Painting as possible.
Adjusting the texture, contrast, colors, or anything, to make the very best image for the buyer.... May you enjoy our work as much as the individual who purchased the original.

When living in California for over twenty years, we went to Yosemite many weekends a year, and spend a week or more there during some vacations. On our Honeymoon, we
spent three days there as part of our trip to places up Highway 49 through areas where prospectors mined a lot of the gold in California. Then over Donner Pass down to Reno,
Virginia City, back up to Lake Tahoe, and south on 395 to Yosemite again.

Yosemite Valley is a glacial valley in Yosemite National Park in the western Sierra Nevada mountains of California, carved out by the Merced River. The valley is about 8 miles
long and up to a mile deep, surrounded by high granite summits such as Half Dome and El Capitan, and densely forested with pines. The valley's widely regarded as the
centerpiece of Yosemite National Park, attracting visitors from around the world. Yosemite Valley represents only one percent of the park area, but this is where most visitors
arrive and stay.

The flat floor of Yosemite Valley holds both forest and large open meadows, which provide breathtaking views of the surrounding crests and waterfalls.

Like everybody else here, I LOVE this painting. I've done this subject countless times myself, and your style and execution are exceptional. I do have a question, what are those two diagonal dark lines just below the "face profile" on the face of half dome? Was this a stylistic addition, or what?
Bob and Nadine Johnston replied:
The two dark lines are shadows of the Verticle ridges to give it shape. They are not always noticed when looking unless it is very late in the afternoon and the light is just right. In the painting emphasized the shadows to make them more obvious.
