Description
The Strait of Juan De Fuca is the water separating Vancouver Island from Washington State. It is the commercial waterway for shipping from the open Pacific Ocean to the West, to the ports of Vancouver,Seattle,Victoria and others on the Canadian and American west coast. In this photo, a tugboat is towing a large barge which could contain virtually anything, though most likely to be mining or forestry products being transported from the upper B.C. coastal communities to the manufacturing companies mentioned above.
Taken in the evening, the photo captured the beautiful glow on the billowing clouds and snow-capped Olympic Mountains.
