Description
When I first visited Nova Scotia, Canada, it was love at first sight, and it will never change. On my first day I was able to visit the tiny fishing village of Peggy's Cove, on the wild and storm-swept outer coast of the province. The area is famous for it's landscape of huge granite rocks, scoured smooth by the grinding of the glaciers during the end of the last Ice Age, 10,000 years ago. The open Atlantic Ocean is seldom quiet, and thundering surf like this is a common sight, but often uncommon to the tens of thousands of visitors that come every year from all over the world. Though the famous lighthouse and the village itself attract most of the attention, I love to wander off along the shore and try to catch scenes of the real forces of nature. October is a good month to see the ocean in a wonderful stormy mood, though it changes so fast you can also enjoy lovely calm seas and wonderful sunsets. Just wait a few hours, or maybe a day. It's worth it.
