This is the most beautiful painting! I feel lucky and blessed that I came across it! My husband and I honeymooned in Mo’orea and we had taken many pictures in front of this church. To find that Greg Collins painted it was such a joy! We will treasure it forever!

I was super-pleased with my photo print purchase! Like many people, I’m sure, when making online purchases there’s always just a little voice of skepticism in the back of my mind. I knew I liked the image, but had to roll the dice that it would look good in person, the frame would be adequate, etc. I must say it exceeded even my hopeful expectations! First of all, the packing was stellar. The photo print did look great in person, and the framing was WAY better than I was expecting! It was ready to go with a sturdy hanging wire already in place. Unfortunately it was a gift, so I don’t have a photo of it on my wall! I did, however, open and inspect it before wrapping it and re-shipping (in the same stellar packing!). I would easily recommend FineArtAmerica and will happily shop with them again in the future…worry free!

Artist's Description
This is an early morning view from a tiny town in southern Utah called Mexican Hat. It is located on the northern edge of the Navajo Nations, not far from Monument Valley. Here you see the variety of terrain the area has to offer: a distant butte, lower mesas, a steep cliff, and the very red rocks and sandy soil that are rich in iron oxide.

What an outstanding view Nikolyn; absolutely love that view . And the exposure is to die for. My million dollar question is - where are you standing? Are you at the edge of a cliff? Wonderful image and view.
Nikolyn McDonald replied:
I was actually in a parking lot right behind our motel room in Mexican Hat, Hany LOL The town (population 31 according to the 2010 census) is on the San Juan River so this cliff may well be part of the gorge carved out through the ages. There was sloping land below it and a drop-off at the edge of the parking lot on the near side. I must confess to not having walked across the lot to the far side to check things out. When I looked out the window that morning and saw the light on the butte in the distance, I threw on my clothes, grabbed my camera, and raced out. To get over the cars in the lot, I shot this with my telephoto from the raised "porch" in front of our room. The light was soon gone. Thanks as always for the comment and for engaging - always fun to chat :)
