August 1955, we were surveying the uninhabited coast of the Arctic Ocean in the North West Territories of Canada. The midnight sun could be called a sunset or sunrise, equally, but was often very beautiful. The only problem was the clouds of mosquitoes which arose with every step on the tundra. The shot was taken with a 35mm. Exakta, 50mm. lens, and Ektachrome film. Scanned in 2004 with a Canon 4000dpi scanner.
