The most prominent feature in this amateur telescope photograph of the moon is the Mare Crisium, the almost circular, large crater at centre right. Just to the north of it is the crater Cleomedes; the small bright crater to the left of Crisium is Proclus. The large dark regions to the west (left) & south (bottom) are parts of the Mare Tranquill- itatis & the Mare Fecunditatis. Photographed Aug. 8, 1971, 12ins, R.C.,, 0745 UT.
