Description
Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada. The Athabasca River rises in the snows and glaciers of the Rocky Mountains, and carries a huge volume of water into Jasper. Here the river encounters a seam of softer rock and over untold years it has created Athabasca Falls, one of the iconic sights of the Canadian Rockies. In addition, it has carved a narrow twisting gorge through the rock and evnetually emptying into a flood plain. Taking the care to climb down into the gorge and battle the gusts of wind and almost-constant mist and spray, one can get some interesting images.
