Sagittarius presents a megalithic door at the heart of its teapot asterism, all we need do to escape the Elvenking is to step through it, if we can. Sentinel Hill stands guard over the Lions Gate Bridge , Stanley Park and Vancouvers harbour.
More than once he was nearly caught in the doors, as they clashed together or when the last elf passed; yet he did not dare to march among them because of his shadow (altogether thin and wobbly as it was in torch-light), or for fear of being bumped into and discovered. H168.26-.30
Although this passage makes it clear that there is more than one door to the gate, it does not follow that there are strictly two of them. The illustration on page 166 and mention of magic spells indicate more than two simple doors.
Sagittarius presents a megalithic door for the ElvenKings Gate when it rises about 7 PM in mid-August, but at 2AM it sets on its side.
While the doors remain, the surrounding doorway may be different at various hours. Auriga, Bootes and Hercules present arches in the north as entrances until the gates clash together, they leave the meridian at 5:35AM and 8AM respectively. In the south, besides Sagittarius for exiting there are Microscopium closing at 11:35PM and 8AM, and Sculptor closing at 3:25AM in mid-August AD.
Eventually he managed to find out where each dwarf was kept ... 169.14-.23

The dwarves fill out a zodiac of cells which range about the Elf-kings halls 34.20, 46.17
Thorin may be given the first-age constellation Luthien Virgo for his cell 223.03, 17.07 .As Persephone SN460, Virgo was abducted by Pluto-Libra SN275.08-.09 and Luthien was taken by Celegorm S173, III 238-241, therefore, the Elf-king acts like Pluto; Libra 97.26 to Thorin Virgo.
The Elf-kings hall is also known as Thranduils Hall, and Thranduil is the second elf lord there. UT282n.20 per 97.26
According to Tolkiens elves, Nargothrond and the Elf-kings Halls are designed in imitation of Menegroth S114 with its constellated rond, or dome; the Menelrond. Thorins cell is like the prison cell of Luthien in Nargothrond; deep and dark. The First Age heroine Luthien is comparable to Virgo the Cornmaiden. Luthien was the noble maiden authorized to harvest the Lembas corn-grain in the ritual manner XII 404.
The Dome could be tilted to level the ecliptic or a circle of stairs could ascend and descend along that circle of fire.
Now Elrond was a word for the firmament, the starry dome as it appeared like a roof to Arda; and it was given by Elwing in memory of the great hall of the Throne of Elwn the midst of his stronghold of Melelgroth that was called the Menelrond20, because by the arts and aid of Melian its high arched roof had been adorned with silver and gems set in the order and figures of the stars in the great Dome of Valimar21 in Aman, whence Melian came.
