Entering the Gates
How can a person enter such secret gates as that of the elf-king? It would seem to be easiest while the loop of such a constellation or gate is near the horizon where it may be stepped into or is not too much of a leap. Auriga/the Elf-kings Gate 275.09 clears the northern meridian at 8:05, but Sagittarius the Elf-kings Gate clears the southern meridian at 9:32. I wont decide what is better or more likely; Aurigas position or Sagittarius timing for the Gate 166. I will let the reader decide.

The King of the Magic Doors
Rather than meeting a Sarastro, guardian of light, Bilbo with his magic ring seems to have seen the King of the Night 97.07. We can expect that all scenes in the ElvenKings hall will be under a nearly limitless dome of darkness contrast 222.24.
Sagittarius/the ElvenKings Gate, which is in the south may serve as the inside version of Auriga/the ElvenKings Gate. 165.03, UT259 Menegroth and Thranduil 2nd Lord of the Woodland Realm and the Elvennkings Hall
Like the door of night the ElvenKings Gate V Auriga or Sagittarius V are difficult or impossible to force; who can say but this king how to open a constellation? Perhaps the gates recede until a guest is inside; or they recede until one is outside. How does such a gate operate; does it swing doubly, multiply, or both up and down like a draw bridge and portcullis or some other combination? These all seem un-magic and un-elven. 167.10
Inside the ElvenKings Gate, walls may be lined with a star map or constellated legends. In Thranduils hall the dome may feature an illustrated star dome and the floor might depict simply the stars under the horizon. 24.26, S93.

About the Magic Doors
McDonald Inside the ElvenKings Gate : Sagittarius presents a megalithic door at the heart of its teapot asterism, all we need do to escape the Elvenking is to step through it, if we can. Sentinel Hill stands guard over the Lions Gate Bridge , Stanley Park and Vancouvers harbour.
Although this passage makes it clear that there is more than one door to the gate, it does not follow that there are strictly two of them. Tolkiens illustration; The ElvenKings Gate H166, and the mention of magic spells indicate more than two simple doors.
Exiting through Sagittarius the ElvenKings Gate presents a megalithic door look when it rises about 7PM in mid-August, but at 2AM it sets on its side.
While the doors remain, the surrounding doorway may be different at various hours. Other than Auriga, Bootes and Hercules present arches in the north as entrances until the gates clash together; they leave the meridian at 5:35AM and 8AM respectively. In the south, besides Sagittarius for exiting there are Microscopium closing at 11:35PM and 8AM, and Sculptor closing at 3:25AM in mid-August AD.
