This image took 4th Place in the Nikon National Photographic Competition (late-70s)

To print on PAPER.

NOTE: all images with a white border (like this one) are designed exclusively for printing on paper, then matting and framing (my preference for display).

I recommend a white mat with a black frame (model HP4), which is referred to as gallery framing (similar to what is shown above). The mat should be about 4" on a 16" print, or about one-quarter of the print dimension on other sizes. The mat can't really be too large, but it can be too small.

This image was captured at dawn, in the winter, at about 5 degrees F. It was shot in the historic town of Bodie, California. It's a very unique photograph.
