Description
This painting of hedgehog cactus and a baby saguaro cactus with a desert coral orange background which resembles the colors found in the Arizona sunset skies, was inspired by the Sonoran Deserts of Arizona; in specific, Mesa Arizona. . . . .When the artist moved from her home state of Oregon in 2008, she expected to miss the wonderful colors found in the flowers, shrubbery, and trees that are in abundance with the many nurseries in the area. She was pleasantly surprised to fall in love with the colors found in the Sonoran Desert. Right in her own backyard and neighborhood, everywhere she visits throughout the day, she is greeted with the colors found in her new desert world. . . . . The hedgehog cactus almost seem to pop up out of nowhere with their bright blooms, and remind the artist of how the crocuses do so in Oregon during the early spring. The baby saguaro is a sign of a new beginning to a long, long journey ahead. It is said that for each arm that a saguaro has it represents approximately 25 years of life; some of these cacti have some interesting stories to tell.

Very interesting, Love the colors and was done in a very transparent method with color intensity in the red blooms with increased opacity. You have incorporated a wonderful linear quality to your painting with ink and pigment . fav,v, Fb
