Description
Close up of the painting Daughter of the bright sun.
Mapuche woman with all their jewels and symbols of the worldview of the Mapuche people.
The deeper meaning of the mapuche jewels is that they are a connection to the celestial world through their designs and iconography as anthropomorphic, zoomorphic and symbols realize their worldview concepts, serve as protection against evil spirits (pillanes) and connect with Ngenechen (god).Mapuche women have played an important role in both the Mapuche religion as the transmission of culture. The Machi is who communicates with the gods of life and Kalku is someone who knows the gods of death.Mapuche are one of the original peoples of Chile. They are very brave and women are very combative. I feel a great admiration for this people. They have never been conquered.
