Description
Chinook is a male eastern screech owl. The tree he was in as an owlet was felled and he was found on the ground. The rest of the family was killed. The little fledgling seemed normal, but it soon became evident that something was wrong. He was fine physically but must have had a head injury as he could never learn to hunt. He showed no fear of owls, people, or anything; totally unwary, he would have died quickly in the wild. He is now used for educational purposes.

A beautiful sight! It looks scared! L
Nikolyn McDonald replied:
They often do look scared - or at least surprised. He was actually very calm and comfortable with his handler, and I think his expression here is more one of interest and curiosity :) Thanks very much for the comment, Ferid.
