Delight image of an Australian bush orchid that's flowering at this time in Spring, September 2015 on my balcony in a pot plant. This flower always surprises me in Spring when it blossoms against all odds on my balcony which faces south in Winter and gets no sun then. So now the sun has moved around and is warming and lighting up my balcony this plant is celebrating with me the return of the sun and the warmer weather at last! This plants' flowers are small and delicate so it's not easy to photograph them in the best possible way, but I feel I have achieved a good result here along with a few others that I have taken of this orchid plant. What actually prompted me to get all enthused by this plant was the delicious scent that it gave off which wafted in my kitchen window........to my surprise as I'd never noticed that this orchid had a scent before. But I'm figuring since I fed all my pot plants on my balcony the day before this plant was thanking me doubly in this way. I love the delicate shape and colour of this magnificent being and marvel at how something so delicate looking can grow in Australia's harsh climatic extremes.
