Description
Morning light filters through the trees and illuminates the dew on spider webs along an aged wooden fencerow beside the Blue Ridge Parkway in Western North Carolina between Price Lake and Sims Pond near Boone/Blowing Rock. The mountains of Western North Carolina provide endless vistas and environmental conditions for visitors passing through via the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Hi there, Dianne! Thanks so much! I LOVE the image that you entered into the contest; I think I commented on it when I originally saw it on Flickr?! Really nice lighting and line...very compelling. I actually won't be making the reception. I really wanted to go and meet everyone but I already had a rental property in Charleston, South Carolina at the same time for the annual Azalea Bloom. I don't get out often enough anymore to shoot new images, so the trip is pretty important to me for building up the portfolio! Thanks again, Dianne for the great words and much luck to you as well. I think you've got a great chance there with a really strong image if I might say so myself!

Just wanted to wish you much good luck as a finalist (you didn't tell me :) & we're in the same category!) in the Appalachian Mountain Photography Competition! I went to see the exhibit Saturday... it looks amazing!!! Some stiff competition most certainly... Will you be coming to the reception? I look forward to meeting you and the other folks involved.

For sure, Michael! I was actually just finishing up for the morning...I thought...when I rounded the corner on the Blue Ridge Parkway and saw this. Got about eight clicks off before conditions degraded--just glad that one worked out!

I appreciate that, Adel! This one was a photo of chance--conditions along the road where amazing, pulled over and began composing and snapping away ;-)
