Description
Blackberry winter by Karen Cook - Do you know what a Blackberry Winter is? Well, you could call it the spring equivalent of an Indian summer!
A blackberry winter is a colloquial expression for a period of cold weather in late spring that occurs when the blackberries are in bloom. I am not sure if the blackberries are in bloom yet (I doubt it) but snow in the middle of May is not my idea of spring!
But it was pretty when I arrived at Stronach Park in the village of Kingston. Located in the heart of the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia, this day or picnic park is a popular destination for visitors and locals alike.
And on this day in May, with the fountains spraying as the snow fell, it was a lovely blackberry winter day.
