Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

The Bay-Breasted Warbler (Setophaga castanea), a member of the family Parulidae, breeds in boreal coniferous forests in Canada, and migrates south through the eastern United States and Central America to northern regions of South America. This large warbler measures about 9 inches in length and about 0.44 ounces in weight. The adult male has a dark black face, chestnut crown, throat, and flanks, white or cream patch on the back of the neck, and a white abdomen; female and immature birds have more subtle colors. Preferred diet includes a variety of insects and spiders, and occasionally berries and fruit.
This first-spring male Bay Breasted Warbler perched on a branch while foraging was photographed at the Magee Marsh in Ohio on the late afternoon of 5-15-2023. Magee Marsh is located east of Toledo, Ohio on the southern shore of Lake Erie, and is a major stopover of migrating warblers during spring migration.
