Contest entry 7/1/13

Discussion Image

Often I see a homeless person with a pet, well taken care of. I wanted to recreate that in this work, and I merged two pictures, the color photo of the man, and the sepia shot of the cat. The cat was intense work, as I had to extract it from its picture and did not want to lose the whiskers. It also needed some clone work done, as the body was blurred. It worked.
I enjoyed the process of showing the amazing grace that drops into all of our lives at certain moments, one of them the unconditional love of animals.
The only signs of full awareness are the eyes of the cat, and so I wanted them to have a golden color (grace, from a source beyond us).
