20140727 Sketch Of The Day

"Ourselves In Paradise" is an 8" x 6" watercolor sketch on journal paper. I am trying a looser style with what I consider a large brush for such a small paper size. The brush I used is a sumi bamboo brush. Man it holds a lot of paint. Working on trying to control heavier washes. I prefer atypical paper for these kinds of sketches. This journal paper used gives some interesting puddling and bleed affects, it also dries rapidly so in the time it takes to step away to reheat my cup of coffee, it is dry and ready for another wash. Perfect for sketching.
