Monotype- Trying New Paper

I completed this monotype by once again painting directly on the acrylic plate using water soluble ink. After talking with a salesman at an Artist and Craftsman store where I buy my art supplies, he recommended that I try this particular type of Stonehenge paper that had a velum finish. He thought that the finish on the paper would prevent the bleeding I was getting after the transfer that I was getting using water color paper. I think that I like the smooth surface better than that of the cold press watercolor paper I had been using. It also seems to have held the detail edges a little better.

"Back Yard Dry Dock" is a common sight on an island in Maine where my wife grew up summers. Boats of all kinds, in backyards, deals people got on relics, relegated to the hopeful thinking that they will be restored.
