Profile of an artist

So now that I've insulted a lot of famous photo manipulators/photoshoppers with my previous blog post, let's tell you something about realistic art photography. A form of art, practiced by many of talented artists/photographers around the world.
As I call it: Painting with light.
Creating that special still life. Playing with artificial or natural light. Finding the balance between light and shadow in the right density.
The yellow, cyan and magenta that gives your creation that very special feel that only you can create. A scene that could have been painted, but still remains a photographic image.
That is what I do. I play with light. Give a shiny light accent in a dark area to make you walk in to the scene. I darken the darks just deep enough to let the dream conceal the inner voice of your soul. I work with screens to hold the light. Long exposures give me the opportunity to fill in here and there some carefully dosed pocket light and I build my scene with love and warm feelings towards the subject.
I've done that for all those years as an artist, wether working with a model or just objects.
Bond with your scene and you can create a miracle. Touch the velvet scarf with the tender touch caressing the skin of an angel. And never ever be rude. Dress the flower with love in your scene and let the golden juice of a grape moisten your lips while creating your masterpiece in the silence of your heart. Let the ancient decanter tell it's story of lost loves and forgotten times.
If you have it in you, it will show and you'll do fine in the world of art.
That's what makes you an artist.
