New Style Of Art

Thank you everyone for the feedback so far,the image on shown on the left although not fully complete yet uses two images from a local place called St Lawrence Bay in Essex UK as this falls under the district of Maldon in a place like St Lawrence,Maylandsea you often see boats and barges because of the Blackwater/Thames Estuary

Whilst this image may not have the Wow factor it has been created specifically to be viewed on a large scale,my background is in traditional based art such as watercolor,chalk/oil pastels and charcoal, where I was given art lessons in the art of perspective/vanishing point horizons from some one who had a Bachelor in Arts. Finally i personally do not like how the image shown has been constructed and have concerns on the structure with its green roof
but there are two options i could leave this as it is,or add another structure which has a kind of red roof

More color could be used too such as a bit of red on the boats with a bit of greenery too,i like the idea of may be adding a cat, better still i have some seagulls that might work as well,On the subject of parts of the structure being a bit dark this is done so that i can blend in one or two wooden benches with a bit of wall too,and as with the clouds i will either tone these down a bit or blend in another of my sky images
i might even add on some hot air balloons and an airplane as well

Thank you for sharing this epic journey, and congrats on your powers of concentration and expertise. I appears you are achieving your aims. Would that we all could say so. Good luck.

photographically speaking, the foreground is way too dark. and that one boat is covered up by too much railing. the angle honestly looks like a snap shot, the awning doesn't really add any interest. looking at it in a glance, i couldn't tell you what the subject is really about, the roof is the main focal point as everything else overlaps that closest boat, so i'd have to say its about that roof.

I don't do critiques, but I have to say I pretty much agree with Mike's assessment. Also, to me it's very obvious that it's been heavily manipulated, almost entirely computer generated in fact, but maybe that's what you are going for, I don't know.

I would agree with mike as well - also the image gives a feeling of being manipulated in ms paint - not sure if that was the look you were going for..

Maybe if he were to add a cat on top of the roof, it would tend to be a little more interesting..... or a bird and the cat trying to get the bird

Andrew,

I strongly disagree that the foreground is too dark.

I understand what you are trying to achieve with that element. The work looks extremely good and is a very different artistic achievement.

Folks,

This work is not a photograph.

The work is a composite that works for a very different effect.

To me,

The only thing that bothers me in this otherwise strong image is the cloud behind the leading edge of the roof.

Here is the thing with critiques. If the artist is trying to do something like say impressionism and the one critiquing is interested in color field imagery or photo realism, there may be little constructive critique. I always wish to know what the artist is attempting to do before I give my almost useless opinions.

i don't wait for what they are trying for. i think its much better to leave it up in the air and see if others are seeing what they are seeing. i see a blurry image of 2 photos put together.

i'd like to also point out something VERY important - to the OP --- answer as at the bottom. don't change your opening message to thank everyone because it makes it very confusing for everyone.

@Mike Savad i don't normally share art that is work in progress,i intend to make the finished piece for sale and then we shall see from the public's point of view on whether this would be sellable

its just that the answers below were about the question. now that we answered, the original statement was changed, and it made the critiques look out of place. its the reason why the threads normally lock after 24 hours.
