Decreasing Sales

you should be happy you sold a bunch when you did. i didn't sell much in the summer and sept is slow. my sales just picked up and hopefully are going stay strong. the order in the search will vary depending if someone else with that keyword sold more than you, and you get pushed back in the search.

if you had sales before i'm sure they will come back. each person has their own set of people that buy from them and it seems to come in waves.

Yup, no good to complain about August when everyone is on vacation.

I guess the question is what are you doing to market yourself during the slower months?

I'm afraid I don't know what to say to improve your sales Mr.Bhat as I am fairly new to FAE & since I began I have been busy trying to sell our house & so have had no time to attend to my FAE site.......As far as Twitter is concerned= I was very active on it but, although I have had masses of feedback & followers I never found it a good place to actually sell anything ! I think there is too much art out there & not a lot of spare money ??!
I also found that, after spending a lot of time arranging my work on FAE that it had all been re arranged & I was not very pleased about it...but as you say "what can we do "??

300 sales one month and then 3 the next?

Or is 3 sales one month and then 1 the next?

Personally I'm looking at my best month ever with the next payout.

My October 15 pay day will also be my highest. Sales are so random though....Just when you think you've got em figured out, they change.

As per as number of sales, I had 4 in October and just one in September and so far none in October.

october just began though. push whatever you were selling by theme. don't know if fall sells now or winter. or if they are already thinking of spring.

While I'm not bringing in big numbers, other than last months $528 which I will be paid this month, I have sold something 5 months in a row. That is a record for me.

I thought you were going to say you went from 15 sales to 3 sales or something like that. 4 one month to 1 the next is normal, and we're only 6 days into October. In Sept I went the first week without a sale in any of my stores. It wound up being my top earning month so far selling prints. You never know when the next sales streak is going to start up.

But, it can be frustrating going long periods without seeing a sale come in. The only thing you can do is to keep working like crazy improving your shop.

Toby, 15 sales in a month would be nice. 4 in a month itself was a record for me. Hope they will come back.

Vishwanath your photography is awesome - I have no doubt you will eventually sell well. It takes a very long time to build up to consistent sales - after just over a year here I'm barely starting to sell (if it holds up). I'm hoping the holidays will contribute to more sales and eventually better standings in the search engine.

In terms of search engine sales, I had over two months of absolutely nothing. I am not a top artist here on FAA, so while I was a bit disappointed I always tell myself they will come back! However, I worked very hard marketing in those two months and made one of them my best ever :) All of a sudden I have had 3 search engine sales in 11 days, one near the top of my biggest yet! I have learned to just do my part in marketing and hope that transfers to search sales here on FAA! I hope your sales come back!

Please don't put all the eggs in one basket :)! Certainly, I don't have as many sales as the previous years' in this year on FAA. But I sold more original paintings and got more customer orders, so I am grateful being an artist and painter can focus on creativity.

Decreasing sales? After five years I've yet to make a sale.

I have to say that sales are rather random here. September was my best month ever and I will see my biggest payout ever. But that doesn't really follow any rhyme or reason to be honest.

I do know that the last quarter of the year tends to be great all around due to holiday sales but other than that, nothing has ever followed a pattern for me. You just have to be happy for the sales streaks and take the lows in stride.

My take on this is you joined this site in late July, Made a bunch of sales in August (Congrats) and then they trickled....after that they slowed down so my guess is the followers you had before you came here bought and now you need to market to the outside.

there is also a theory that new people are placed higher in the search for a little bit, then if they can survive, they stay there, otherwise they are bumped.

Looks like sales number vary through the year with no systematic pattern. Also, I will have to diversify by not putting all my eggs in one basket. And do more marketing. With this, I will close this thread.
