I Need Your Opinion

I am going to apply for uni in the uk to study photography. So now I need to create a portfolio to add to my application. Now I'm asking many people which of my photos they like the most and I would be very happy if some of you also could take a look at my page and send here in this discussion which of my photos you like the most and would be good to add to my portfolio.
Thank you for your support!

I like your Humming bird because it is a much different perspective than nearly every other photographer takes.

I like your Reptile (Iguana) because of the detail.

How many works can be in the portfolio?

It would all depend on the type of course you are taking but I would inlcude the type of photography you have the most passion for. My fav is

Art Prints

How many all depends on the uni. For example I want to apply to Brighton and they ask for 20-30

bournemouth just asks for 10-15 photos

I like Locker Love because of the depth of field;
I think you should include your "moon" good exposure and some decent details
I like the dog yawning. Good timing of capture.

To me the toucan is nice, but it should have been sharper.

The 20 to 30 number sounds about average. I would show them a block of work that is consistent in approach, technique etc. for about 20 of the works. This shows you can focus on an idea and explore it in some depth. Then I would show a variety of work to show your range for the final ten. Let them basically know what you are doing so they don't think you went off the deep end.

Ironic - you need to show photographs in order to learn how to photograph.

if they are looking for consistency, i didn't see that. i saw many of the same thing at slightly different angles. a dozen dogs, some vacation things. i had to go through all 155 to see just those.

it really depends what they are looking for. i chose those because they are isolated from everything else. many others had distractions. i think they should all be ooh and ahh shots. however if they asking because they want to see your current level so they know where to start from teaching you - then just choose what you like most. or a mix of stills and so forth.

Go out with a model and shoot fashion. This is probably the only area where one can make some decent $$ in photography.

Fashion, food, architecture (i.e. well lit interiors)
