New To Fine Art America

Good Morning, Everyone.

I'm new. I love photographing barns, farms, old sheds, etc. I've added a lot of keywords to the images I've posted, created a few galleries, and uploaded most images at a very high resolution.

Are there any tips you might have to get some followers, and get my images to be seen by more people.

I've uploaded about 15 photos uploaded so far, but have a few hundred to go. I've been taking pictures for several years, so I've got a lot of them. :)

Thank you in advance, your feedback will be appreciated.

Bill

Welcome aboard William! I love your work! Grew up in the Midwest so I have seen a few barns like those. You did a great job of capturing them!

Here's some reading materials for you. The first one with the 24/75 Rule is a good place to start.

Remember, you need to get your works seen outside of FineArtAmerica/Pixles and much better if you only advertise and promote your own ArtistsWebsite with links to your images.

If I were you William I would not follow anyone's advice but yourself! Look into your heart and there will be the answers, not from aggressive advise givers who's agenda is to promote their style of working. You have to develop a style which is natural and compatible with yourself, not contrived or fake and like the ones always trying to give advise.

i don't see anything related to using a certain style - and why would i want people to use my style? this thread has to do with marketing.

OK but I have no tips you think are of value.
This guy says he is new. He asked for any tips, not the Snyder & Savaad lecture on how to run an art sales business.

thank you

William is here to sell prints. They sell prints....lots of them. Of COURSE they are going to give advice because that is what good sellers tend to do here

If you are not interested in selling prints then you have no place having a go at those who do and who then give help

Nothing wrong with selling prints.

But I thought Fine Art America was open to original art as well as reproduced mass marketed printing.

If not then I am in the wrong place here.

I know no one who would buy a cheap print including me.

they allow you to sell original prints, but this is a print on demand site

in any case i don't see how your remarks fit in.

Welcome to the site William. There are certainly buyers for barn images. The site has a fantastic search function. After you get comfortable navigating the site. Do a search for "barns". Click around see whats selling, recently added ect...

Anyone know what fine art means? Nothing about POD.

Mike Savad

this site is a Print On Demand.

it means stuff printed on paper. if your confused, you should probably log into pixels.com.

Now look MS, you have no authority here on FAA at all. Therefore stop the non art talk. This is not a print only site.

i am a MR

the main function of this site is to sell prints. they let you sell originals. but they limit your keywords and i don't think you rank in the search if you sell it only in that form. but i could be wrong on that. it would be kind of unfair if non prints are in there. for the most part this is a POD.

Welcome, The cool thing about this site is it is open to all types of artist. You can sell prints if you wish, just concentrate on originals, not worry at all about sales, personal choice is the key here. I think you will like the site, I have since 2007.

"Anyone know what fine art means? Nothing about POD."

As a matter of fact, I do. And I also know that we sell Fine Art Reproductions printed on various media. That is what the main focus is on FineArtAmerica/Pixles and most other POD sites.

Welcome, William. As you have probably noticed, there are several people on the forums who are willing to share their experiences on what has worked for them - very informative.

Of course, sometimes you have to wade through a lot of useless posts to find those gems. You probably noticed that, too.

Anyway, I noticed that you have created galleries, which is a very good idea, but when I looked, there was only the generic FAA icon as the logo image for each gallery. It would be much better to use one of your own images in the gallery for the logo.

This can be done by using the "edit gallery" function.

Good luck to you, sir!

Some people really need to learn to tolerate those who are opinionated. This PC crap is killing me! William, my advice is to look for advice and opinions from those who are the most critical and opinionated. Then make your own decision. The more the better

Thank you everyone! I've read, and used, a lot of the advice given here. It's all been very helpful. Now I've got to start finding some followers.
