Activity

How does "Activity" work and why? Reason for asking is seems only one person is on it continually and this is "Garden Perfection". Once in a while I look into it and I see only one person on it continually for weeks at a time.

Do you have a filter selected? If so click on the "All Activity" box. I see all the new contests and all activity directed towards me, such as comments and features. It sounds like maybe you are following Garden Perfection and have the filter box selected for watchlist activity.

activity follows anyone that comments on your work, features you have etc... however it also displays everyone you follow. if they comment, get a comment and so on. i don't follow anyone for the most part, just because of that issue.

The comment box doesn't seem to be working there. I have been trying to thank people for two days.

Some people hog the activity page with comments and likes. You can choose to unfollow that person.

Thanks everyone.

So it's not really much of a deal anyway to be visible on activity stream. I did notice once in a while I saw where I had commented on someone's art and it showed up on the activity stream. It seems nice to get recognition by recognizing someone else's work but it looks hoggish yea if it is overdone.

Vincent, I see what's happening. You are only following four members, so if you have "All Activity" selected, you will see that member mostly if they are the only one posting new work, favoriting others, or starting a contest. You won't see their comments on other work UNLESS you have already commented on that other members' work. I also share Mike's dislike for this feature, because if a member is getting a ton of comments on a piece that I've commented on, it litters up the Activity page, and who cares, anyway? Once I've commented I don't need to keep seeing other members' comments.

I see Patricia... thanks.

It comes from members being followed. I think it's a "time eater" so I'm going to ignore that part of the site.
