What Would You Buy For 10k?

As a companion to Cheryl's "Art Collector Game" discussion how about something with a much tighter budget? You have a budget of $10,000 to buy one piece of art, what would you buy?

For me it would be any painting by Utah artist Gregory Stocks http://www.gregorystocks.com/ but I think my first choice would be the one I attached.

That work by Stocks is lovely. Thanks for posting it. I don't know that I could bring myself to spend 10 grand on a piece of artwork. If I won the lottery and had several million in the bank, maybe. There are so many artists that I admire I don't know whose work I'd choose.

For only 10K I guess I would able to buy one of Alex Queral's portraits which are carved out from used telephone book.

I prefer to travel if there were 10K (currency?) available.

I know, thatīs selfish, but I would buy enough high quality prints (from FAA?) of my own photographs, to organize a vernissage! 😎

Reality check: How much would you have to have in the bank before parting with $10K?

I'm not sure if 10K would buy one of his paintings, but I would try: http://www.caiofonseca.com/paintings.html

Okay, I guess I have to make it more clear. Someone shoves $10k in your hand and says;

"Buy one piece of art, if anything is left over you have to give back to me, and you have to keep this piece of art until death."

So, what do you buy for $10,000 or less that you must spend on one piece of art and will have to live with for the rest of your life?

choices:

1. frame the money
2. buy the art i want and simply give him the rest, because if i'm not happy with it, i don't need it.
3. buy the high price art, then sell it.

A drone and a GoPro, then pay off bills.
