First Timer

Hello My names Donna

I just found the site and started to down load some of my paintings. I have few questions if anyone can help me.

How does the actual sale work? How much commission do I receive from the sale. How much more should I mark up my prints? Can I go back in an make changes to the mark up amounts? Do I have to sign up for the premium package in order to sale my prints?

Your markup is your commission and yes, you can change that dollar amount by editing.
You do not have to sign up for a premium account in order to sell, however you will be limited to 25 images.
WELCOME!

You will not be able to sell prints until you upload files big enough to make a print from. For example this is only 320x240 pixels. You need a lot more. You need to get a better scan or photo. Once you have enough pixels, there will be more options to sell other sizes. You just have to fill in the prices.

Most of these questions are answered on other discussions -- there was at least one other pricing/mark-up discussion started today -- as well as other helpful links on the site.

How does the actual sale work? You put a price in and if someone buys it, you get paid your mark-up on the 15th of each month provided enough time has passed.

It's mark-ups here, not commission, althhough premium members do get a small percentage above their mark up for costs of framing, etc.

How much more should I mark up my prints? One of the most asked and answered questions here. You should find several similiar artists to your work and look at their pricing. Show Price Details will give you a ball park figure of their mark up.)

Can I go back in an make changes to the mark up amounts? Yes, there's a button called "Edit" under each image in your portfolio.

Do I have to sign up for the premium package in order to sale my prints? No, but the limit is 25 whereas premium members get all they can load.

This won't print because we can see the wall around the art.

It's also dark. Remember you're asking people to buy your image and hang it on their wall. You need to ask yourself why they would want to do that.

This is another exceedingly small image like the one Bradford mentioned --

Photography Prints

I aim to not upl;oad anything smaller than 3072 pixels at the largest end. The above one for you is 320 pixels. I'm surprised you were able to populate any prices for the products.

If you sell an image we will refuse to print if the image shows.......

Pixellation
Blockiness
Bad cropping
Blurriness not in keeping with the image (ie not meant to be there)
normal font signature (Arial, Times New Roman etc)
signature cropped half off the image
large watermarks
noticeable camera flash
Upsized images

We do not do quality control until you sell so, it is your responsibility to quality control your images carefully before uploading. You do this by zooming in a photo editor to 100% and then carefully going over the image, checking for the above defects

what you mark in is the amount you get. the site adds on what it needs to. the amount is up to you.

this image won't print because we can see the wall. the images uploaded have to be presented well or they won't print them. you have to have keywords or no one will find you

Art Prints
this is the smallest image i've ever seen posted

Sell Art Online
same with this its a 120px. nothing here will print things this small.

you'll want to scan all your work in, as it stands your images are either too small, poorly cropped or soft to print. so work on that first. then add tags, and you'll have to advertise as well. on the plus side, you have good meaty descriptions.
