Do the likes on your images have a significance to the image or you as a member?

I would say both, yet mostly the image.

You can see who Likes your images via the Pixels app for mobile.... that is the only place i've found them.

I guess what I am saying is, does it put your image in a higher bracket or something, Like the more likes it has the best chance of getting it put on first page or getting some special recognition award..anything like that?

i would say no. it might have at one time, but its so easy to abuse, that it probably is more like a gimmick like facebook has, rather than really helping you out in the search. otherwise there would be LIKE clubs and it would be abused even more.

Ya, Mike, It is funny how humans tend to abuse things isn't it..the Lord has given us so much, and we take that and more..Yet everyone always has something to complain about don't they?
Thinking about it, that was a pretty stupid question..

I view Likes the same as Favorites. Only with Favorites they go onto our Favorites page.

Valenteana, I think it happens a lot on flickr. I have seen horrible photos with thousands of likes and hundreds of comments, I dont know if it helps there either? I really think that having more likes will increase sales. If you were a potential buyer and you saw two identical photos, would you buy the one with 1000 likes or the one that has 4?

Cheating and lying is human nature. My wife worked for a Toyota dealership in SC. Every year our area will hold a "Best of" compitition through the local newspaper/news channels. The owner of the company would buy pallets of newspapers and use a couple of his employees to fill out the forms voting for his dealership,. of course he won yearly. What is so sad about this is the guy is high in the church, there every Sunday and Wednesday.

I would not start a group on the subject that is for sure, I was asking because when you like an image a pop up comes on and says " likes help us organize our search results" so I was wondering exactly what that means.

at one time there were like 100 people on this site. in order to keep the search with the best people at top, they used the like system. i guess figuring that if other artists like them, or guests like them, then they should be on the top. but as the site grew up, and people started to abuse the system, it meant very little. and i can only guess now that its legacy code, a little message to tell people - thanks for visiting you helped in some way, even though it really didn't.

I am the first to like each of my images. Give them a good birth in life.

I don't think customers look at the likes at all. Besides, the only images I have seen with huge number of likes favs votes and comments are all from vote trading groups. Frankly some of the images are great and some wouldn't even print as a card they are so blurry. I think a customer knows what they like when they like it. Two identical pictures, like say a PD image that are literally identical, I don't think likes matter at all. In that case they will probably buy based on price or brand.
