Question About Purchasing My Own Prints

If I purchase my own print for resale - do I get charged MY own mark-up?

OR - is there a stupid question help page for newbies?

When you are logged in and viewing one of your price pages you will see a message at the bottom that says it is showing you your price without markup, because paying markup would just be paying yourself.

Welcome to FAA

Rod,

Yes, as Valerie states, you won't be charged for any "profit" markups, but on the other hand, won't receive any benefits from a "sale",

And you will be more than if you had al local printer print them for you and pay shipping.

Question for those who do this... why do you pay retail prices for reselling? Does not compute.

I like to get examples of what my work looks like through FAA. I've had people ask and I want to be able to tell them how it looks. (If FAA didn't do good work, I wouldn't be here.) And their stuff looks better than anything I've had done locally, but maybe the places locally just suck.

A couple reasons I buy from FAA for showing live.

1. As Joseph said, I want to know the quality is there.
2. Metal and acrylics are really well done and actually very comparable in price to anywhere else I can get them done.
3. Canvas wraps are very reasonable IF I make an LTP.
4. I can send my nephew in prison a ten pack of cards shipped directly from the manufacturer but cannot send him boxes directly. ( I understand my work is quite popular among the inmates and he gets a lot more in barter for the cards than he would have if I simply put money in his commissary.

Oh, I do not buy framed prints here as I like non-glare or museum glass.

This IS the place for newbie questions and there are no dumb questions.

JC was missing one more advantage to buying from FAA... The metal prints are made to the size of your image where elsewhere you will need standard proportions.

Umm... what's an LTP, JC?

LTP = Limited Time Promotion. Find them under the marketing section on the behind the scene page. They are canvas prints at reduced prices which you make available for sale for a limited time only.

The LTPs are aligned more closely with other canvas print dealer's pricing because they are in standard proportions. Thus, some images work on them others the crop won't really work.

As Nancy pointed out FAA generally prints your images exactly as the artist uploads them. (generally as cards, pillows, phone covers etc etc must be cropped to fit.)

That is another huge advantage from FAA IMO.
