Hello From Dickinson, Texas By Galveston, Cindy Riley, Daily Painter

Wanted to check in and meet everyone. Born & raised in Texas. Live on a 200 year old family Ranch. I am able to paint everyday, Go through the pastures or 2 bayous, shoot non professional pictures and come home and play piano. Oh t h e re are chores to do, feed the peacocks and critters. But oil painting, learning on my own, has been all that completes me in years. No lessons. Just read and listening to others. Son is a Navy Chief. His dad was in the Navy but passed away. My grandson joined the Navy last week. Husband works for the State Of Texas, for 23 years now. Read art books or old 1800s story books we inherited and collect. God is good to us.
Also download or look through thousands of photos and negatives from our Families, we inherited. Oh so many!
Collect Antique Dolls and Vintage toys for 20 plus years for fun. Both of us.
That's pretty much us in a nutshell. Everything around us is old, even the giant oak tree paint under. Cool salt gulf breeze helps keep me cool. The only new in our life is my painting.
Husband took my first 50 paintings on boards, and attached them to the ceiling in our bedroom.
Took his time, looks mosaic. I go to sleep seeing what I did, and wake up seeing what I pray I can do better.
Everyday for God's to guide my mind and hands as I paint or play piano. GIVES great peace when I am painting and done.
I TRY TO SEE, as many paintings a day as I can. Like, share, comment, everyday. My breaks are coming in the house to get cool, right now, and share/ like. Joined several groups to get acquainted with everyone.
Do not have to paint outside, just like it best. Have a 3 season porch just for art and an art room. David built me the greatest storage out of heavy lumber for my paintings.
I am old, honest, and not mistake proof by a long shot.
HAVE A GREAT DAY.
Cindy Riley

Your farm and life sound sublime. Welcome Cindy!

Greetings, Cindy -- it's nice to 'meet' you!

It sounds as though you're living a wonderful life. I especially like the mental images I have of your big, old, tree and the bedroom ceiling of paintings. Beautiful!

All the best to you! :-)
